Adriano admits to wanting Inter return

Former Inter Milan striker Adriano, pictured in 2009, has admitted he hankers after a return to Italy and his former club.

Speaking on an Italian radio programme, the Flamengo forward said he had unfinished business to take care of.

Asked if he would like to play for Inter again he replied: "Yes. I want to ask for forgiveness for the way in which I left Inter."

Asked if he would consider playing for another club in Italy, he replied that he would.

The programme's presenter Simona Ventura also said she believes the forward has lost about 10kg since leaving Italy.

Adriano had a turbulent eight-year association with Inter, at times playing brilliantly and being the darling of the San Siro terraces.

But he also suffered from personal problems and weight issues and quit the club halfway through last season despite starting the campaign in fine form.
