Alves dismisses Kaka Brazil fears

Barcelona's Daniel Alves insisted on Saturday that Real Madrid star Kaka will not be an injury burden at the World Cup.

Kaka has been carrying a left thigh injury for two months, a problem which has dogged his progress in Spain after arriving from AC Milan last summer for 65 million euros.

But Alves has no fears for his international teammate as Brazil chase a sixth World Cup.

"Nobody here is even thinking that Kaka will not be in top form at the World Cup," said Alves, who also said that Brazil are unconcerned about once again being considered as favourites at the World Cup which starts on June 11.

"The title of being favourites is good for people outside, but for us on the inside, we know that to win a match or a competition, you have to work hard and shut out everything."

Brazil are in Group G at the World Cup with North Korea, Ivory Coast and Portugal.
