Cudicini signs one-year contract with Tottenham

Tottenham goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini on Tuesday signed a one-year contract extension with the English Premier League club.

Cudicini, 36, has been sidelined since November after surgery on his right wrist and pelvis following a motorbike accident, but the Italian is back in training and has been rewarded with a new deal.

Tottenham's head of medical services Wayne Diesel told the club's website: "We are delighted at how well Carlo has progressed. He has shown a great deal of self-discipline and motivation to come back from this."

Former Chelsea keeper Cudicini, who moved to White Hart Lane in January 2009, made seven appearances this season before the injury, but had to watch from the stands as Harry Redknapp's team qualified for the Champions League after finishing fourth.
