Del Piero stills believes in fourth spot

Juventus legend Alessandro Del Piero insisted his team can still finish fourth despite trailing Sampdoria by six points with just three games to play.

Juve dominated Bari 3-0 at home on Sunday to move to within four points of Palermo but their hopes of Champions League football next season were then badly hit as Samp won 2-1 away to AS Roma.

Even if Juve win their last three games, including an away trip to AC Milan, they will need both Samp and Palermo to collapse in order to snatch fourth place, but Del Piero thinks it's possible.

"It will be very tough for us to finish fourth but that's what we want and we have to believe," he said.

"We can't look too much at the other games and just think first and foremost about ourselves.

"We won and we're happy but now we have to win our last three games as well and then cross our fingers.

"We have to concentrate solely on the three points and then look at the table at the end of the season."

Juve have had a torrid season, crashing out of the Champions League in the group stages, losing to Fulham in the Europa League, reaching only the quarter-finals of the Coppa Italia, and after 13 league defeats they sit an unimpressive sixth in Serie A.
