Gattuso set to be back in driving seat

Veteran Italian international midfielder Gennaro Gattuso is set to be reunited with his Range Rover four years after it was stolen, Albanian authorities said on Wednesday.

The 32-year-old AC Milan hardman's vehicle was finally tracked down last November, in the possession of an Albanian man who claimed he had bought it from an Italian who was returning home to Italy.

According to police, however, it transpired that once the thieves had got the car back to Albania they forged false paperwork, made new number plates and changed the numbers of the chassis and the engine.

Gattuso is not the first football star to have had his car stolen and taken abroad to the Balkans.

His current AC Milan team-mate and former England captain David Beckham had his BMW stolen when he was at Real Madrid.

Macedonian police tracked it down in 2005 on the border of Albania and Macedonia.
