Hearts break Hibs with late derby winner

Hearts won the Edinburgh derby with David Obua's last-minute goal securing a 2-1 victory over hosts Hibernian at Easter Road on Saturday.

Obua capitalised on some poor goalkeeping by Graeme Smith, who completely missed a cross, allowing the Uruguayan defender to finish into an empty net.

The result left Hibs still stuck at fifth in the table, with Heart of Midlothian now three points behind them.

With two games left, both Edinburgh clubs are trailing Motherwell in the chase to finish fourth and secure a place in the second qualifying round of next season's Europa League.

Hibernian went ahead through a penalty in the 55th minute after Marius Zaliukas was adjudged to have clipped John Rankin in the area.

Anthony Stokes sent Hearts goalkeeper Jamie MacDonald the wrong way from the penalty spot.

Hearts' Spanish midfielder Suso Santana came on for Ryan Stevenson in the 68th minute and levelled for the visitors four minutes later.

Following good work from fellow sub Calum Elliot, who pinched the ball away from the onrushing Smith, Santana had an easy finish.
