Messi magic crushes Arsenal's Champions League dream

Holders Barcelona qualified for the Champions League semi-finals here on Tuesday, beating English side Arsenal 4-1 in their quarter-final second leg match to win 6-3 on aggregate.

Argentinian star Lionel Messi scored all four goals - the first time he has achieved that feat - to set up a semi-final with Italian champions Inter Milan, who beat CSKA Moscow 1-0 - 2-0 on aggregate - earlier on Tuesday.

Danish international striker Nicklas Bendtner had given Arsenal early hope slotting home on the rebound to put them 1-0 up but then 22-year-old Messi stole the show in the remainder of the first-half to score his fourth hat-trick of this year.

He added his fourth late in the second-half to take his total goal haul to 119 for Barcelona, 39 coming this season for his best ever season's haul for the club.
