Scharner to leave Wigan

Wigan midfielder Paul Scharner has confirmed he is set to leave the Premier League club at the end of the season.
Scharner has been out of favour with Latics boss Roberto Martinez recently and the Austrian appeared to be saying farewell to the fans after coming on as substitute in Monday's 2-2 draw with Hull at the DW Stadium.
The 30-year-old, who joined Wigan SK Brann in 2006, had 'THANX' dyed into his hair as a message of gratitude to the supporters who made him a cult hero.
Speaking to BBC Radio Manchester, Scharner said: "This was the last game at the DW Stadium for me, that's true, as a Wigan player.
"Next season, I am looking for a midfield position but it's too early to say at which club. I am looking to stay in the Premier League.
"First of all I have to say thank you to the chairman of Wigan for giving me the chance to play in the Premier League.
"And another thank you to the supporters. They created a nice song for me. It was very enjoyable and I go home with tears in my eyes."
