S.Korea determined not to crumble against Argentina

South Korea's football coach promised Thursday his team would not crumble in the face of mighty Argentina when they meet in next year's World Cup in South Africa.

South Korea's football coach promised Thursday his team would not crumble in the face of mighty Argentina when they meet in next year's World Cup in South Africa.

South Korea and the South American football powerhouse have been placed in the same group -- along with Nigeria and Greece -- to compete for the top two group slots and advance to the last 16.

"I can't find any flaws in the Argentine team," coach Huh Jung-Moo was quoted by Yonhap news agency as telling a news conference.

"The team has been a little sluggish during regional preliminary rounds, but it is still one of the world's strongest football teams."

Huh, who played for South Korea when it lost 3-1 to Argentina during the 1986 tournament in Mexico, is determined there will be a different outcome this time.

"I was a player at that time and now I'm leading a team," Huh said. "I don't want to crumble without making an effort to win."

South Korea's best World Cup showing was the semi-finals on home soil in 2002.

Its team will take on Greece on June 12 in Port Elizabeth, Argentina on June 17 in Johannesburg and Nigeria on June 22 in Durban.
