Zoua out of World Cup for Cameroon

Young Cameroon forward Jacques Zoua has been ruled out of the World Cup in South Africa with a hamstring injury, his coach Paul Le Guen revealed on Friday.
"He's got a hamstring injury and it's too close from him to recover and get back to fitness," said Le Guen at Cameroon's pre-tournament training base here in southern Austria.
"It was better to recommend he return, which is a shame for him but those are the rules of the game."
The 18-year-old FC Basel forward was named in Le Guen's provisional 30-man squad for the tournament, which begins on June 11.
Le Guen also revealed that captain and talismanic striker Samuel Eto'o will be given a week's rest after his club Inter Milan's Champions League final against Bayern Munich in Madrid on Saturday.
"He'll join us directly in Portugal. He'll play the Champions League final, he'll have a week to recover a bit, and he'll be there in Portugal," said the French coach.
Cameroon face friendlies against Georgia, on May 25, and Slovakia, on May 29, in Austria, before travelling to face Portugal in Covilha on June 1 and Serbia in Belgrade on June 5.
The Indomitable Lions, World Cup quarter-finalists in 1990, have been drawn alongside Denmark, Japan and the Netherlands in Group E.
